Adrien Brody will go head-to-head with fellow screen stars Christopher Meloni and Eddie Cibrian at a charity celebrity car race in Long Beach, California next month (Apr12)

The trio, along with other famous faces including actress Kim Coates and Mexican star Kate del Castillo, has signed up for the Toyota Celebrity/Pro Race on 14 April (12).
Chiefs at the car firm donate $5,000 (£3,125) on behalf of each participant to Racing for Kids, an organisation which uses motorsports to raise awareness of funding the health care needs of children, while the same amount will also be gifted to the winner's favoured charity.
Les Unger, Toyota's national motorsports manager, says, "It's been astonishing to see how many entertainers and sports personalities have been transformed by the Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race - not just by the event itself, but by the fact that it benefits chronically ill children.
"I have yet to meet a participant who hasn't been appreciative and sincerely affected by the children's hospital visit that we organise ahead of race day."
Actor William Fichtner won last year's (11) race.

Christopher Meloni has put his Park Imperial condo on the market for $12 million. The three-bedroom, 4 1/2-bathroom, 3,000-square-foot apartment is on the 60th floor of the high-profile building at 230 W. 56th St.
The stunning apartment, which was featured in Architectural Digest, has great views of Central Park, 10-foot ceilings, a big foyer, a formal dining room, a chef’s kitchen and a master suite with five closets.
While buyers in the building have included Sean “Diddy” Combs and fugitive software executive Kobi Alexander (who sold three Park Imperial Apartments as part of a settlement with US regulators), the building’s former renters are just as high-profile. They include James Bond actor Daniel Craig and Malaysian party boy Taek Jho Low.

If you could assemble a cast that includes Paul Rudd, Elizabeth Banks, Amy Poehler, Bradley Cooper, Christopher Meloni, and Joe Lo Truglio, you’d have an A-list comedy on your hands these days, and that may be what you get if they make Wet Hot American Summer 2, the long-proposed sequel to 2000′s cult comedy. Co-writer and star of the original Michael Showalter said it’s definitely happening and everyone is on board.

Showalter said so on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live last night, and said so with great authority. This is after the recent live table reading of the original film’s script that took place at San Francisco’s Sketchfest. The cast for Wet Hot American Summer also included Janeane Garofolo, David Hyde Pierce, Michael Ian Black, A.D. Miles, Ken Marino, Molly Shannon, Judah Friedlander and Marguerite Moreau, many of whom were at the recent reading.

Chris Meloni has been set to play Leo Durocher in 42, the Brian Helgeland-directed biopic for legendary Pictures about Jackie Robinson and the breaking of baseball’s color line. Chadwick Boseman is playing Robinson, and Harrison Ford is playing Branch Rickey, the Brooklyn Dodgers general manager who signed the second baseman and changed the world. Gersh-repped Meloni plays Leo the Lip Durocher, who was the Dodgers manager and who was an avid supporter of Robinson, and stuck up for him when he faced racism from crowds, and sometimes opposing even his own dugout. Legendary Pictures CEO Thomas Tull is producing and chief creative officer Jon Jashni exec producing along with former Disney chairman Dick Cook. They’ve got Robinson’s widow, Rachel, consulting.

Chris Meloni, who left Law & Order: Special Victims Unit earlier this year, will become a series regular on True Blood. Meloni will join the cast of the bloodsucking HBO drama in season five as an "ancient powerful vampire who holds the fate of Bill and Eric in his hands."

The 50-year-old, who played Eddie Carbone in A View From The Bridge at the Gate Theatre in Dublin, previously played Chris Keller in HBO's uncompromising prison drama, Oz, and is currently in negotiations to play a major role in the forthcoming Superman reboot, Man of Steel.

That noise you hear is the sound of Twitter exploding into a million little pieces over the following news: Chris Meloni is being courted to join the cast of True Blood.
Take a deep breath and continue reading…
TVLine has learned exclusively that the former Law & Order: SVU front man is circling what my sources are calling a “major role” in the show’s upcoming fifth season.
But what role? An HBO rep declined to comment, but I hear Meloni — who’s currently shooting a top-secret role in Man of Steel — is in talks to play (duh) an incredibly powerful vampire.
If a deal comes to pass, this would be a major casting coup for True Blood. It would also mark a high-profile return to the small screen for Meloni following his sudden departure from SVU last spring.
Thoughts? Is this too good to be true? Hit the comments!
